What is happening

A RIA Novosti source specified that this was the Mnukhin children's psychiatric hospital. The question of where the staff were at the time and why the children were not protected remains open.

Case status

On 9 June 2025 the Investigative Committee began a check under Article 132 of the Criminal Code and promised a legal assessment of the staff's actions. Almost a year and a half later, no results have been published.

  • Investigators said they would assess not only the actions of the patients but also those of the hospital's medical staff.

Information is given according to the St. Petersburg Investigative Committee and RIA Novosti. We do not accuse specific employees — we demand an answer as to why the children were not protected.
